Update – Well, Jimmy is on the run again… While other former Presidents have tried to refrain from attacking the sitting US President, Mr. Carter’s attacks on President Bush have increased. The New York Sun provides a nice summary of how this man operates as if he is only accountable to himself. His latest escapade involves him trying to undermine US policy efforts at the UN. Carter told the UN Council on Foreign Relations, “My hope is that when the vote is taken the other members will outvote the United States.”
Feb 17, 2006 – This man never ceases to amaze me in his ability to stay disconnected from reality… Since I was too young to vote when he was “King of the country”, I can’t comprehend the sentiment of the nation that would enable Jimmy Carter to be elected (don’t remind me that he was once an engineer). His impudence in dealing with foreign policy and the economy was an embarrassment to the nation. Given his track record, you would think he would coil-up and hide. Instead, he operates as if he has been anointed by divine forces to act as mankind’s conscience. That wouldn’t be so bad if he wasn’t a caricature of everything that is wrong with Liberalism — namely, always dealing with life the way we would like things to be .vs. dealing with things the way they really are. This recent editorial in the New York Post does a nice job of summing up how many people view this senile old man.
