Does anyone else see anything crazy with Obama’s outlook on life in his recent ‘Trayvon Speech’? These comics sum it up nicely.
Comics used to take seriously their historical role as political jesters, mocking the Kennedys, impersonating a bumbling Gerald Ford, or an inarticulate George H. W. Bush. Reagan and Clinton also came in for substantial comic abuse during their administrations, and George W. Bush was the frequent target of ridicule. And then, with the election of Barack Obama, it all stopped. Suddenly, there was nothing funny about the president of the United States — not his massive ego, his pomposity, his inability to speak extemporaneously, his golf game, even his jump shot.
It’s called diversion folks. I used to do it all the time when I was in trouble as a child.
