Socialism in the United States?
Saturday, February 27th, 2016 | Author:

A very pertinent observation… and proof that empirical information does not matter in the word of politics:

The United States within nearly a century of its founding became the wealthiest nation in the history of mankind. It accomplished this without an income tax, free university tuition, universal health care, or even Social Security. In Bernie Sanders’ lifetime, he witnessed the fall of National Socialists, Soviet Socialists, and more benign iterations of the collectivist ideology. But he imagines the command economy, rather than the free market, as our savior.

The Deaf Italian Accountant
Monday, February 22nd, 2016 | Author:

The Godfather finds out that his bookkeeper, Guido, has cheated him out of $10 million.
His bookkeeper is deaf. That was the reason he got the job in the first place.
It was assumed that Guido would hear nothing so he would not have to testify in court.

When the Godfather goes to confront Guido about his missing $10 million, he takes along his lawyer who knows sign language.

The Godfather tells the lawyer, “Ask him where the money is!”
The lawyer, using sign language, asks Guido, “Where’s the money?”
Guido signs back, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
The lawyer tells the Godfather, “He says he doesn’t know what you’re talking about.”

The Godfather pulls out a pistol, puts it to Guido’s head and says, “Ask him again or I’ll kill him!”
The lawyer signs to Guido, “He’ll kill you if you don’t tell him.”
Guido trembles and signs, “OK! You win! The money is in a brown briefcase, buried behind the shed at my cousin Bruno’s house.”

The Godfather asks the lawyer, “What did he say?”
The lawyer replies, “He says you don’t have the balls to pull the trigger.”

Bicycling in February?
Saturday, February 20th, 2016 | Author:

Holy cow!  I’m riding my Cannondale around Dayton, Ohio in February.  Call Al Gore and tell him that I’m enjoying that climate change stuff.

The temperature was in the low 60s with a clear blue sky — leading to early Spring fever.  However, the winds were gusting to 20 mph and I had to maneuver around many fallen branches on the bike trails.

As far as the weather is concerned, I think that there’s a slight shift in the starting dates of the seasons, and we shouldn’t be surprised to see snow in Ohio in March.

What is Islamophobia?

An interesting quote from Christopher Hitchens:

“Islamophobic is a word created by fascists, and used by cowards, to manipulate morons.”

Current Crazy Conundrums
Wednesday, February 17th, 2016 | Author:

The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing.  Think about this: “A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don’t have one, you’ll probably never need one again.”…  Here are six Conundrums about socialism in the United States of America:

1. America is capitalist and greedy – yet half of the population is subsidized.

2. Half of the population is subsidized – yet they think they are victims.

3. They think they are victims – yet their representatives run the government.

4. Their representatives run the government – yet the poor keep getting poorer.

5. The poor keep getting poorer – yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.

6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about – yet they want America to be more like those other countries.

Think about it! That pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st Century. Makes you wonder who is doing the math.

These three short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:

1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Moslems by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.

2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. But we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money!  What’s interesting is the first group “worked for” their money, but the second didn’t.

3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military, and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.

A Moslem Attack On America in 2016?
Friday, February 12th, 2016 | Author:

Is this for real?   We haven’t heard much about this in the mainstream media:

CIA Director John Brennan said ISIS has “used chemical munitions on the battlefield” and can construct chlorine and mustard gas-releasing weapons…

Defense Intelligence Agency Director Lt. Gen. Vincent Stewart told the Senate Armed Services Committee that ISIS will “attempt to direct attacks on the U.S. homeland in 2016,” and that the caliphate is infiltrating the refugees fleeing the ISIS mayhem in Iraq and Syria…

Obama’s Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said ISIS operatives are “pretty skilled at phony passports, so they can travel ostensibly as legitimate travelers,” with Syrian passport machines having been commandeered by the terrorist organization.

What’s This Talk About ‘Democracy’?
Wednesday, February 10th, 2016 | Author:

Some good questions in this article:

In democracies all adult citizens get to vote — but for what? The statutes we’re expected to live by? (That would be direct democracy.) For the representatives who write those laws? (That defines a republic.) Or do we elect representatives who write laws that establish bureaucracies that parse them into regulations? Filtered through the incessant quibbling of lawyers, judges, and beneficiaries?

  • Weightlifting commentator at the Olympic Snatch and Jerk Event: “This is Gregoriava from Bulgaria. I saw her snatch this morning during her warm up and it was amazing.”
  • Horse Racing Commentator: “This is really a lovely horse and I speak from personal experience since I once mounted her mother.”
  • Grand Prix Race Announcer: “The lead car is absolutely, truly unique, except for the one behind it which is exactly identical to the one in front of the similar one in back.”

Obama Visiting His Own
Wednesday, February 03rd, 2016 | Author:

The Manchurian Marxist Moslem ventured out to visit some of his own:

“So let’s recap. The mosque that is hosting the commander in chief, while receiving his historic benediction graduated a terrorist who plotted to blow up a local Army recruiting station, hired an imam who condoned suicide bombings and blames American ‘foreign policy’ for terrorism.”
