More People on Welfare than Employed!
Wednesday, May 28th, 2014 | Author:

There are now 11 States that have more people on welfare than they have employed.

Last month, the Senate Budget Committee reports that in fiscal year 2012, between food stamps, housing support, child care, education expenses and meals, Medicaid and other benefits, the average U.S. Household below the poverty line received $168 a day in government support.

What’s the problem with that much support?  Well, the median household income in America is just over $50,000, which averages out to around $137 a day.

To put it another way, being on welfare now pays the equivalent of $30 an hour for a 40-hour week, while the average job pays $20 an hour.

The Thought Police are on a Roll
Sunday, May 25th, 2014 | Author:

From the Leftist ‘saint’ at the LA Times:

Less than a month after Sterling rocked the sports world with racist remarks, Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, has openly acknowledged his own prejudices…

But after making those comments, Cuban appears to be lot closer to Sterling than anyone ever imagined, and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver needs to deal with the dangers of that proximity.

The all-knowing,morally pure commentators are coming out of the woodwork to pass judgment and act as our proxies for the Thought Police.

Political Viewpoints Summarized
Saturday, May 24th, 2014 | Author:

I’m now old enough to have personally experienced the left wing political world for more than half a century.   Most recently, the Leftists have warned us about the dire consequences from global warming, climate change, the war on women, and on and on…  At some point, it becomes relatively easy to distill all of the shrill into a simple statement for everything that the so-called ‘Progressives’ preach. It’s a little bit lengthy for a bumper sticker, but it sums up their viewpoint rather well:

The World Will Come to an End

If You Don’t Send Us

Is Krugman Right About Anything?
Friday, May 23rd, 2014 | Author:

Former Enron board member Paul Krugman wrote in 2011:

The VA’s success story is one of the best-kept secrets in the American policy debate…[conservative] pundits and policy makers…can’t handle the cognitive dissonance.

Another NBA Owner Under Fire
Thursday, May 22nd, 2014 | Author:

Obviously this is good fodder for a web site entitled “Think Stereotypically, Act Individually”…  People are up in arms about a statement that Mark Cuban made recently:

“If I see a black kid in a hoodie and it’s late at night, I’m walking to the other side of the street. And if on that side of the street, there’s a guy that has tattoos all over his face – white guy, bald head, tattoos everywhere – I’m walking back to the other side of the street,” he said in the interview that was posted on the Internet.

Evidently people don’t agree with his position (Do you think his thinking and position is illogical?), and feel that Mr. Cuban is a bad guy now.  The scenario he outlines is a test of one’s logic and integrity — what would you do if posed with that situation?

What Do Theologists Say About Homosexuality?
Thursday, May 22nd, 2014 | Author:

Here is an interesting perspective from Rev. Franklin Graham:

True followers of Jesus Christ, whose salvation is based entirely upon God’s Word, cannot endorse same-sex marriage, regardless of what our President, the Congress, the Supreme Court, the media or the latest Gallup poll says about the matter.
