Who Needs Data When You Lean Left?
Thursday, June 30th, 2016 | Author:

This type of logic is a sure sign that it’s time to run for the hills:

Leading climate doomsayer Michael Mann recently downplayed the importance of climate change science, telling Democrats that data and models “increasingly are unnecessary” because the impact is obvious.

“Fundamentally, I’m a climate scientist and have spent much of my career with my head buried in climate-model output and observational climate data trying to tease out the signal of human-caused climate change,” Mr. Mann told the Democratic Platform Drafting Committee at a hearing.

“What is disconcerting to me and so many of my colleagues is that these tools that we’ve spent years developing increasingly are unnecessary because we can see climate change, the impacts of climate change, now, playing out in real time, on our television screens, in the 24-hour news cycle,” he said.

Has Violent Crime Increased?
Thursday, June 30th, 2016 | Author:

There appears to be some contention about what’s been happening with crime in our country over the past few years:

…violent crime in many cities has risen since 2014, in some cases alarmingly. In Los Angeles, for example, it’s up 45 percent from two years ago, the biggest increase among the cities examined. The picture is even more frightening when homicide figures are checked. Denver, San Diego, Dallas, and Seattle have seen murders increase by more than 40 percent in two years. In Houston, Phoenix, Chicago, and San Antonio the increase is more than 50 percent.

You Must Hire Convicted Criminals?
Wednesday, June 29th, 2016 | Author:

Is there no end to this Leftist lunacy?  Do they not believe that in some cases, distinguishing between good and bad is necessary?

Businesses that ask a job applicant about his or her criminal history during the hiring process could be fined and forced to pay the applicant up to $500 under a new law being considered by city leaders.  A Los Angeles City Council committee backed a plan Tuesday to penalize businesses that weed out applicants based on criminal convictions.

Do You Trust Political Polling?
Monday, June 27th, 2016 | Author:

If journalists and pundits have no concern for reality, why do you suppose that polling results published to the public are real?

A new reuters poll shows that support for Hillary Clinton for president is at 46.6 percent, while Donald Trump slumps at 33.3 percent of the vote.

We’re here to show you how that poll is crooked and misleading.

Male Perspective On Marriage
Sunday, June 26th, 2016 | Author:

From StrangeCosmos, some good humor:

“I had some words with my wife, and she had some paragraphs with me.”

“Some people ask the secret of our long marriage. We take time to go to a restaurant two times a week. A little candlelight, dinner, soft music and dancing. She goes Tuesdays, I go Fridays.”

“I don’t worry about terrorism. I was married for two years.”

“There’s a way of transferring funds that is even faster than electronic banking. It’s called marriage.”

“I’ve had bad luck with both my wives. The first one left me, and the second one didn’t.”

Affirmative Action Breeds Racism
Friday, June 24th, 2016 | Author:

I think that this covers it pretty well:

“When admission preference is associated with skin color, the result is the strengthening of the ignorant stereotype that people having skins of that color are intellectually weak. This a canard, but it is reinforced by preference,” Cohen told The Fix. “Preference in admission is a very bad thing for the minority preferred! It is also morally wrong, because it violates the fundamental principle that the races must be treated equally in a decent society.”

Political Lunacy on Terrorism
Tuesday, June 21st, 2016 | Author:

Refuting their logic is like shooting fish in a barrel…  the explanations from the Leftists are so contorted, they can’t identify the backward logic:

New York Times columnist David Brooks said it outright on the PBS Newshour: “As I said, as everyone says, the reason we have terrorism is not because the prophet Mohammed came down and not because there is a religion called Islam. The reason we have terror is that young men are alienated and feel they can wage war and a just war against societies that are racist and xenophobic and crushing toward them.”

Think for a moment about how ridiculous that is. A people’s religion doesn’t matter? A people’s governing philosophy doesn’t matter? The faith that inspired them to bring down the Byzantine Empire, to conquer huge swaths of Europe, to subjugate women, to insist on submission from followers…  has no overall effect on their societies? The reason they’re violent is because of ourxenophobia? What racist snobbery that is! Brooks is saying that the terrorists aren’t capable of forming and acting on their own motivating philosophies, that they can only react to ours.

Is Profiling Natural?
Monday, June 20th, 2016 | Author:

This blog has been around for nearly 10 years, and while some folks didn’t originally like the theme of this site (“Think Stereotypically, Act Individually”), you’d have to agree that it has been fairly prescient.  We now have people recognizing that profiling is a natural survival instinct for human kind:

In the wake of Orlando, the topic of profiling has come up again via Donald Trump and others. Given the horrific extent of the massacre, this is highly understandable, even though profiling has always struck me as an ironic subject for an obvious reasons: everybody already profiles!

Source: Trump Is Right on Profiling

If you need additional proof that NOT profiling can be irrational:

Another problem in the United States and the West is that profiling is either not allowed or not used in screening those applying for security jobs or joining the military. Thus the Moslem man who carried out the Orlando attack was subsequently found to have passed screening for an airport security job and recent warnings (to the FBI) from gun shop owners who noted his suspicious behavior were not acted on. This refusal to recognize the obvious continues in the United States, despite repeated attacks that could have been prevented if methods that work in the rest of the world were used.

Obama Adopting Soviet Tactics
Sunday, June 19th, 2016 | Author:

I suppose that we shouldn’t be surprised that Obama and his cretins have decided to edit the emergency phone calls from the recent Islamic massacre in Orlando…  Obama and company edit everything to their liking, such as videos about dealings with Iran. It’s like Stalin having Trotsky removed from photos.  It’s the way of the Leftist —  “Reality is what I tell you that it is.”
