Microsoft on Google
Wednesday, November 29th, 2017 | Author:

This is an interesting development:

Chromebook users looking for an alternative to Google’s set of editing tools can now turn to Microsoft Office, which is finally available on Chromebooks. The suite of office apps—Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook—has been available on macOS, iOS, and Android devices, but Chromebooks have been left out of the picture until now. Depending on your device, however, it could cost you a few bucks for what most would consider essential features.

When Claims Lose Any Meaning
Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 | Author:

In the world of engineering and manufacturing we often say “when everything is high priority, then nothing is high priority”.   It’s a way of stating that you have to clearly stratify the differences in your observations and claims.   I suppose the political equivalent of this lack of differentiation is when everyone claims that anything that they don’t like is “racism” (of course, this diminishes the word so much that any claims of racism lose any meaning).  Take a look at some recent claims from some questionable characters.  The first is Elizabeth Warren, who says that Trump calling her Pocahontas is racism.  The second is the George Soros-funded group Color of Change claiming that a change in the net neutrality law is racism.

What’s next?  Is someone going to claim that Martin Luther King was a racist?

Ohio Sports Weekend
Monday, November 27th, 2017 | Author:

I would have to say it was a pretty fruitful weekend for our sports teams…  We attended two Wright State Raiders basketball games in addition to one Dayton Flyers game.  All of these contests had the home team winning.  In addition, the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, and Columbus Blue Jackets were all winners as well.  It’s not very often that all five teams that you support are victorious over a holiday weekend.

Check out the interesting photos from the basketball games below:

A Controversy in the Middle East?
Monday, November 27th, 2017 | Author:

Do you want to know how to get the Arab nations in a tizzy?  Here is a simple technique used by Kuwaiti journalist…  He elected to speak the truth:

Amid a quiet thawing of relations between Israel and more moderate Arab states, a leading Kuwaiti journalist this month sparked public outrage when he dared to get real about the Jewish state.

Writer Abdullah Al-Hadlaq was taking part in a panel discussion on Kuwait’s Alrai TV when he not only rejected the notion that Israel is an occupying power, but went so far as to accept the legitimacy of the Jews’ return to their ancient homeland.

He went on to heap praise on the advanced and progressive Jewish state, which puts to shame most of its Arab neighbors.

Kasich Believes in… What?
Monday, November 13th, 2017 | Author:

I’ll bet that there are many Ohio citizens that can’t wait until Kasich leaves office:

It’s time for lawmakers to get into a room and figure out some sort of solution on gun control, Ohio Gov. John Kasich said Sunday. In an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” Kasich said the recent shootings in Las Vegas and Sutherland Springs, Texas, should put more emphasis on gun control legislation while still respecting the Second Amendment.

American Citizenship
Saturday, November 11th, 2017 | Author:

Some informed comments from Mark Steyn about being a citizen in the USA:

Citizenship is about allegiance. We benefit from our rights as citizens of the state and in return we accept our duties as citizens of the state. And let’s not be embarrassed about supposedly obsolescent concepts like the “nation-state”. If we’ve learned anything since September 11th, it’s that, if it were left to the multilateral acronyms — the UN, EU, even NATO — Osama bin Laden would have the run of the planet. The great evil of September 11th is being resisted by a small number of nation-states, by the United States, the United Kingdom and a handful of others. Ultimately, it is as Americans or Britons, Australians or Canadians that we resist the assault on our liberties.

What Do Leftists Really Believe?
Sunday, November 05th, 2017 | Author:

They proclaim to believe in high moral virtues.  They designate anyone who doesn’t support their policies as deplorable.  Yet, they always appear to avoid practicing what they preach.  Hypocrisy is a central tenant of the true practice of Leftism.

If you want to know what liberals are up to, all you have to do is listen to what they’re accusing conservatives of doing.
