You can include me as one that is against the Government providing funds ahead of bankruptcy to the UAW… err, I mean Big Three US automotive companies.
There are tactical benefits from saying no to the bailout, such as bankruptcy will help the companies get into the necessary restructuring with the unions and debt holders. However, I’m more concerned on a strategic level. The approach proposed by the Dimocrats represents a continued move towards Socialism where a Government bureaucrat called the ‘car czar’ (is it ironic that they chose to use that Soviet-era term?) is running these industrial companies, and redistributing income from taxpayers to the overcompensated union ‘proletariat’.
It is not in our country’s best interests…
