Unfortunately, I’m watching hockey on FSN with Columbus against Nashville again… and as the famous expression goes: “It’s Deja Vu all over again”. I’m just flabbergasted when I watch the Nashville players jabbing away at the Columbus goalie with impunity as he is trying to freeze the puck. I’m convinced that the Columbus players are part-time figure skaters because players like Zherdev are afraid to use the body (they’re only good at holding their opponent’s stick).
I don’t know how much more of this I can take…
It\’s ugly. I mean real ugly. 0-4 under an interim coach. They certainly didn\’t light any fuses under anyone by firing Gallant. They did however speak with Ken Hitchcock (former coach of the Flyers and Stars) and he\’s supposedly number one on their list of replacements. I think he\’d be good because he works guys to death and isn\’t afraid to get pissed off at his players and get in their faces. I like Gallant but he might have been too even tempered for this group. Maybe this team needs someone to jump on them and give them a kick in the arse every now and again.
