Catching or Slaying the Bear

The Washington Examiner asks about the Obama team, “How could such smart people do so many stupid things?” Here is an excerpt:

The same people who directed the campaign that defeated Hillary Clinton and routed John McCain, a campaign that raised far more money and attracted far more volunteers than any before it, have within a year come up with a legislative program that is crashing in ruins and that, to judge from recent polls, has left the Democratic party weaker than I have seen it in almost 50 years of closely following politics.

It occurred to me that there are simple analogies in the business world.  For example, we often split folks into those who are good at “catching the bear”, while there are others that excel at “slaying the bear”.

It’s clear to many that the Obama team was very good at sound bites and marketing, but incompetent in execution.  Personally, I’ve ceased trying to understand the Obama team… It’s really very simple.  Repeat after me: Manchurian Marxist Moslem.
