I was one of those early adopters of the integrated phone/PDA devices. In fact, I purchased my Treo 300 back in 2002 and I marveled how I had more power in my hands than Gene Roddenberry ever imagined when he was creating props for his science fiction series.
The continued evolution of the combined mobile computing, communicating, entertaining, etc. devices still amazes me. I currently use a Treo 650 with a Bluetooth connection to my car’s iDrive system, and I really appreciate the smooth operation.
Take a look at the direction Nokia is heading with their new Ovi platform and you can’t help but be impressed. Their phones use the Java software platform, and their latest phone is really incredible. It includes GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc… It really is getting closer to the point where you will have best-of-breed functionality integrated into a hand-held device.
This looks great!
