I discovered that many electrical items were not working in the faithful 2000 Toyota that we’ve had in the family for 17 years. I opened up the fuse box in the engine compartment (see below) to check the status. I discovered that one of the large square fuses was blown.

In contrast, the blown 100 amp alternator fuse looks like this monster in a box. If you look closely, you can see the broken wire through the clear lens.
Unlike ordinary fuses, that you can extract and insert, I discovered that these 100 amp fuses have blades with screw holes for securing to the fuse box.
To make this fuse change, I had to remove the battery, air filter, etc. and take apart the fuse boxes in the engine compartment. This also included the disassembly of the high-amp section of the fuse box to access and unscrew the 100 amp fuse.
After 1.5 hours of work, we found success and now have our famous white Camry back in business.
