I just returned from a business trip to the Denver area… The rocky mountains were beautiful, and I stayed at the hotel where they shot the movie “The Shining” (see photo of exterior below). Interestingly enough, they actually do ghost tours in the hotel… When my toilet started running during the night, I yelled out to the ghost to jiggle the handle.
I was also able to meet up with a fraternity brother that I hadn’t seen in 25 years. Eric and I spent 3 hours at a nice restaurant in Boulder where we got caught up on all the stories we’ve missed.
Finally, I had a couple of hours available before my flight back to Dayton, so I decided to do a scenic drive in Rocky Mountain National Park. When I got up in the higher elevations (around 9,000 ft), the snow was about 6′ high on the sides of the road and blowing into the lane (a little scary for us Midwestern boys). You slip off the road near Long’s Peak and its about 1000 ft straight down…
Beautiful pictures. Looks like the weather was cool – you had your jacket on.
