I realize that politics often involves gestures for the sake of appearance… However, according to Reuters, the Bush administration plans to revive the “road map” for peace between the Israelis and the wandering Arabs known as Palestinians… “Determined to revive the stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace process, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Thursday she planned to travel to the Middle East soon.”
Am I missing something here? How do you have “peace” talks when one party flatly refuses to even recognize that the other party has a right to exist? Thus, what are her realistic objectives and expectations?
Should we assume that Condi also has plans to stop by to visit Al Qaeda and negotiate a peace agreement between these folks and the US?
