Everyone realizes that Canadian hockey teams can’t even win a Stanley Cup anymore (North Carolina is the current NHL champion)… However, it’s even more interesting to note how many Canadians now act and think more like Europeans. In fact, I was recently at a business meeting in the Pittsburgh area where a potential vendor from Ontario was presenting their solution. Towards the end of the meeting, the executive from the Canadian company made a snide remark about America being embroiled in a war in Iraq. Needless to say, this didn’t go over very well with the managers based in the heart of United Steel Workers territory…
There is a recent article in Christian Science Monitor that seconds my opinion. The Canadian author notes receiving emails from Toronto area students ” that seemed sure of two things: 1) The United States is to blame for the anger and actions of Islamofascists, for ‘creating more enemies,’ and 2) War may be the answer, but since Islamofascists will always be two steps ahead of us, we’re bound to lose.”
