I rarely take the time to watch — much less recommend — a television mini-series, but one show that I really enjoy is “Rome” on HBO (note: I was also a great fan of the HBO mini-series “Band of Brothers“). Rome is an elaborate show produced by HBO and BBC that cost them somewhere around $100 million per season to produce. It focuses on providing a relatively authentic view of the time period just prior and after Julius Caesar came to power. Season 1 ran last year, and Season 2 begins again on Sunday evenings in January.
