We were out doing one of those 20-mile rides north of town on a Monday evening, heading north on Frederick Pike near the Dayton International Airport doing about 20 mph… I decided to get off the main thoroughfare and turned right onto a paved road… discovered the “loose gravel” sign as the wheels were coming out beneath me on the sand-covered road… landed on the left elbow, rib cage, and hip. At least the Cannondale survived the mishap.
Heading north on Frederick Pike, with a sharp right onto Jackson Road
The infamous “Loose Gravel” sign tucked away as you round the blind curve
The results of landing on your hip on hard pavement at 20 miles per hour
There’s no cure but “time” for broken ribs…
