The photo embedded below says it all about Dayton and “The Basketball Tournament” (TBT). There is an alumni team of former Flyer players competing in a 6-round summer tournament known as the TBT. The Dayton “Red Scare” (they can’t officially use the trademarked name “Dayton Flyers”) have won their first 4 games over the last 5 days.
Who would have thought we would be watching a competitive Dayton Flyers basketball game at UD Arena in late July, with the fans chanting the classic, “Go Dayton Flyers!”
Take a look at the players in the photo and you can see the Flyers Alumni: Ryan Mikesell, Darrell Davis, Jordan Sibert, Scoochie Smith, and Josh Cunningham… and if you look even closer at #3 for West Virginia, that’s former Dayton player, Juwan Staten.
