Give the government manager the opportunity to raise taxes and they always will. First, the Democrat commissioners in Montgomery Country voted a few weeks ago to increase sales tax to 7.25%.
The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to raise the county sales tax… The rate will increase 0.25 percent which Commissioners say will raise an additional $19 million in annual revenue for the county.
Now we have the Park Commissioners going after more money from the tax payers:
The Five Rivers MetroParks Board of Park Commissioners today voted to request the Montgomery County certify the amount a 1.8-mill levy with an additional 0.2 mills will generate.
My simple answer is no. These bureaucrats need to consider some zero-based budgeting that requires them to take an honest look at operating within their means.
