Guillermo Canas has beaten the “unbeatable” Roger Federer for the second time… in less than a month! Canas, who was formerly banished from tennis for drug violations, beat the world No. 1 for the second time this month, winning 7-6 (2), 2-6, 7-6 (5) in a Sony Ericsson Open fourth-round match Tuesday. In their last meeting, Canas ended Federer’s 41-match winning streak.
As a tennis aficionado, this is really quite remarkable. Federer was unbeatable for more than a year… The closest sports analogy is a rookie basketball player outplaying Michael Jordan in the playoffs (during MJ’s prime) twice in a four game sweep.
