I found an interesting web site that provides all sorts of histories and screen shots from operating systems over the last 25 years. I recapped some of the significant operating systems that shaped my career since the release of the original Mac computer back in 1984:

Sep 87 – Unix X Window 11 is released
Apr 92 – DOS Windows 3.1 is released
Oct 94 – OS/2 Warp 3 is released
Aug 96 – Windows NT 4.0 is released
Jul 98 – Linux KDE 1.0 is released
Oct 01 – Windows XP is released
