We just returned from a 3-day power vacation in the “Colonial Triangle” of eastern Virginia. This covered the cities of Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown. As every student knows, Jamestown was the first English settlement in America in 1607. Williamsburg was famous as the area formenting the American Revolution. Finally, Yorktown was locale for the key battle in the Revolutionary war against the British, where General Cornwallis surrendered to General Washington in 1781.
Of course, the timing of the visit was very important, considering that it took place a couple of days prior to the July 4th holiday.
