It appears that the Wright State Raiders and Dayton Flyers are moving in opposite directions, with the Raiders winning their last 5 games and the Flyers losing 4 of the last 5. I didn’t get a chance to see either game on Saturday, so my comments are based on interpretation of the respective game box scores…
Wright State 53, Wisconsin-Milwaukee 51: From the stats, it looked like Scottie Wilson had a monster game. Of course, Vaughn Duggins had his usual solid game… it also appeared that Pleiman and Brown didn’t show up for the game (Brown – 0 points??). Ronnie Thomas had a better game than the “white boy with lead feet”, Jordan Pleiman.
Dayton 70, Rhode Island 82: From the stats, it appeared that most of the “role players” contributed more this game. Binnie with 10, Huelsman with 12… London Warren really stepping up with 13 points and 10 boards. The key difference was the Flyers were 2 of 13 from 3-pt range (Roberts 1 of 9!) while Rhode Island was 11 of 26.
With the Raiders currently at 14-6 (second place in the Horizon) and the Flyers at 15-5, this could be another year that WSU surpasses UD…
