I don’t take harsh positions on this topic in the same vein as Ann Coulter, where she insists that Liberals are somehow brain damaged. However, I’ve seen a consistent pattern where Leftists preach one principle and practice another. For example, we’ve all seen the high-profile Liberals such as Al Gore, with their private jets and 20,000 square foot homes, telling everyone to conserve energy.
George Will had an interesting commentary about this topic entitled, “Mugged by data: Research reveals who the truly compassionate are“. It appears that research data provides quantitative evidence about the Liberalism = Hypocrisy. A few excerpts:
Although liberal families’ incomes average 6 percent higher than those of conservative families, conservative-headed households give, on average, 30 percent more to charity than the average liberal-headed household…
In the 10 reddest states, in which Bush got more than 60 percent majorities, the average percentage of personal income donated to charity was 3.5. Residents of the bluest states, which gave Bush less than 40 percent, donated just 1.9 percent.
