Is This Crazy Thinking?

Donovan McNabb, quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles (who happens to be black) complained about his suspended teammate wide receiver, Terrell Owens (who also happens to be black). McNabb said that the receiver’s criticism of him amounted to “black-on-black crime.” …  You may ask, “why is this considered a crime?”  Well, evidently Owens said that the Eagles would be better off if Brett Favre (who happens to be white, and will likely be in the NFL Hall of Fame) were the Eagles quarterback.  McNabb said “It’s different to say, `If we had Michael Vick or Daunte Culpepper or Steve McNair or Byron Leftwich’ (four black starting quarterbacks), ‘But to go straight to Brett Favre, that kind of just slapped me in the face.”

It would appear then that the greatest insult to the black NFL athlete is to be told that a white player is potentially better than you…

  1. Of course this is crazy thinking. What’s even crazier, unfortunately, is that this mindset has become so prevalent and, apparently, acceptable. You’ll notice that no one took McNabb to task for such a stupid and blatently racist comment.

It’s really too bad that some people have reached such a low. And people think TO is the only one with a problem!
