A Mole Safari

Update

I don’t know what it is with moles and me, but I seem to encounter them during uncharacteristic times.  They theoretically stay underground during daylight hours, but while walking through my ‘back 40’, I discovered one with its tuchus hanging out while it was trying to burrow underground.   I used my size 11s to continue my long-delayed mole safari… My neighbor was very appreciative.

For those of you not familiar with moles, these are little mammals that live underground and burrow holes under your lawn.  The mole was originally made famous in the movie Caddyshack, where Bill Murray played the nutty golf groundskeeper challenged by the moles that were digging up the putting greens…

Since I had moles under my lawn — and I tried every humane method to eradicate these creatures — I decided that I needed to go on a mole safari.   I set various spring-loaded traps above their burrows — and what do you know, I skewered a couple of the grey, furry, overgrown mice.
