American Jewry and Israel

The relationship between American Jews and the state of Israel is very complex and forever evolving. This posting, which started in July 2014, originated during the Obama presidency when many leftist American Jews started to openly place the priorities of the Democrat party ahead of the interests of Jews and Israel.

Update

As noted in the header of this cumulative posting, there is a chasm between leftist Jews in America and those Jews in the rest of the world.  As the leftist Jew, Peter Beinart noted recently in the infamous New York Times, American Jews will have to choose between supporting Democrats, homosexuals, Islamists, and globalism, or supporting the Jews in Israel. He provides convoluted logic that supports the twisted world of the typical leftist, which can be summarized as “support the Palestinians because they are the good guys and the bad Jews in Israel will just have to pack it in.”

What is really happening is a bifurcation in American Jewry.  Those who follow  traditional Judaism will support the American right and will continue to support their brethren in Israel while surviving the pending international upheaval.  The other side will represent the people that are Jews-in-name-only (Beinart, Friedman, Schumer, Glazer, Sanders, etc.) that kowtow to every misbegotten progressive cause (Blacks do no wrong, Moslems are never terrorists, Transexuals bring happiness, etc.) and slowly perish from recognition of anything resembling Judaism.

This is already underway and it will become more pronounced at the end of the decade.

As always, it’s the leftist American VAJINO telling other Jews how to be loved by others in the world.   It’s the “Moslem squad”-loving Schumer from New York telling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to step down:

Schumer took the extraordinary step in a speech on the Senate floor. The New York Democrat said that Netanyahu “has lost his way” and “has been too willing to tolerate the civilian toll in Gaza.” Israel’s standing in the international community is suffering under the prime minister’s leadership, Schumer said.

“… the United States will have no choice but to play a more active role in changing Israeli policy by using our leverage to change the present course,”

Hey, wasn’t it this same Schumer who threatened members of the US Supreme Court:

“I want to tell you Gorsuch, I want to tell you Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price…. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

It makes you wonder if any Jew that runs as Democrat can really be considered to be Jewish.

Here is a great example of a leftist, Kapo, self-hating Jew who signals to the goyim “spare me, I also hate the Jews”.   Jonathan Glazer stood at the recent Hollywood academy awards program and announced,  “We stand here as men who refute their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation which has led to conflict”.

Unfortunately, the history of the Jews is that there have been many similar to Glazer over the last 5,000 years.

A very good commentary from Robin Itzler:

…in the days and weeks following the internationally recognized terror organization Hamas’ barbaric attack, Israel found more support from American Christians than from American Jews.

From entertainment to academia to government, too many well-known Democrat Jews were silent. For example, the internationally famous director Steven Spielberg was quiet for nearly two months, ignoring pleas to make a statement. In contrast, American Christian pastors and leaders immediately denounced the attack on innocent civilians and declared their support for the Jewish state.

The short answer is that many liberal Jews are like Bernie Sanders, i.e., born to Jewish parents—and that’s the end of the story. They do not identify with their Jewish heritage or religion, and even less with Israel. A recent incident convinces me that some Jews might even be on a cultural suicide mission.

Stephen Cohen, the Democrat U.S. representative from Tennessee, typifies the out-of-touch nature of the leftist Jews in the United States.   Similar to Bernie Sanders, he is all about virtue signaling and often stands against the interest of Jews in America.  Instead, Cohen focuses his energy on the black American causes, most recently complaining that people didn’t stand for the “Black national anthem” (Is there really such a thing?  Is there a Hispanic national anthem also?)…  All you need to know is that Cohen was endorsed for office by Obama.

And we must work together, as one Jewish community, to successfully communicate to the American people the critical need to stand with Israel, as well as the importance of the US-Israel relationship to America and to Israel.”

Some insightful comments about Jews taking care (or not) of their fellow Jews in America:

Jews cling stubbornly to their leftist politics… More than one article named Jonathan Greenblatt specifically as someone ducking the issue. Why aren’t Jews simply calling for his removal as a fraud?

A large problem for Jews in the US is realizing that some among them are directly responsible for these recent developments. Zuckerberg and his management cadre of a huge social media empire, the founders/management of Google, dozens of journalists in NYC/DC who have been foaming at the mouth about Trump while ignoring the growing actual Marxist brigades in the streets, Biden’s cabinet of feckless idiots, and (not least) the Frankfurt School founders/authors all bear responsibility, in part, for how we arrived at a point where we have massed marches chanting Hamas elimination rhetoric in our streets.

More Jews need to start calling out those of their number who are aiding and abetting their own destruction. One of the articles is titled “Get a Gun.” That’s very funny, when so many of the people who are leading and funding the gun control movement in the US with millions of their own money are Jewish.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), prevented a vote on emergency military aid to Jerusalem. “[Schumer] was single-handedly preventing a vote on emergency military aid to Israel,” Cruz said, also noting that Schumer was “not willing to give up the funding for the army of 87,000 IRS agents.”

Cruz said Schumer “values harassing political enemies of the White House more than military aid for Israel.”

It appears that Mr. Greenblatt has determined that the ADL has solved all the problems of anti-Semitism, and it was time for the ADL to move to larger challenges (having very little to do with interests of a broad cross-section of Jews).   He met with the “highly esteemed” Kamala Harris at the White House:

During the meeting, representatives from the ADL called for extensive online censorship measures ostensibly to crack down on hate speech that could inspire other crimes like what occurred in Jacksonville…

Like the Southern Poverty Law Center, the ADL started out with noble intentions: fighting antisemitism. But now, it has transformed into a far-leftist apparatus designed to advance a progressive agenda.

An excellent commentary about American Jews from Karol Markowicz.  It starts out by highlighting how the typical Jew in America has not really experienced harsh anti-Semitism:

The type of [American] Jew that was a reliable liberal in the last 50 years was rarely an immigrant. Sometimes their families had been here since the turn of the century, missing the pograms in Russia, the oppression of the Soviet Union, the camps of World War II. American Jews have been the luckiest Jews in history but the Jews whose families had been here for a hundred years were something else beyond that. They did not know struggle or pain or true ostracism because of a faith you often couldn’t practice but also were not allowed to discard.

She goes on to explain how Jews in America are changing in their cultural and political beliefs:

The New Jew does not cower. He does not make excuses for those who hate him, whether white supremacist or black nationalist. She speaks plainly about threats, refuses to pretend they’re exclusive to the far right when she can see with her own eyes that they are not…  This New Jew might not be conservative but they are no longer of the left.

She concludes with her prognostication about the practice of Judaism in the United States:

Israel was once a left-leaning country. It is not today. The shift runs parallel to what is happening with Jews in America. Leftism rewards victimhood and the New Jews have decided to be victims no more.

It’s only appropriate that a notorious left wing Jew writing for the New York Times would come out with harsh positions against Jews and Israel.  This harkens back to the 1940s when the NYT ignored just about everything with the holocaust.  So we have lefty Tom Friedman complaining that US-based Jewish groups have done the “bidding” of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and used their “power and influence” to stop successive administrations from adopting tougher policies toward Israel.

Some 70 percent of Jewish Israelis believe a victory for Donald Trump over Joe Biden in the US presidential election would be preferable for the Jewish state… Among Israeli Jews, 70% said Trump is the preferred candidate, 13% said Biden, and 17% don’t know…

If Biden wins the race, 42% of Israeli Jews believe the US-Israel bond will weaken, with only 7% saying it will strengthen.

Here again we have the Leftist ADL abandoning Jewish interests, and instead pretending that its primary mission is to support the policy positions of the Episcopalian Church.

ADL filed an amicus brief in the upcoming Supreme Court case, Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, supporting the college’s discriminatory practices against the petitioning Asian students. ADL rationalized the college’s behavior on the thin grounds that it’s really discriminating for Black people, rather than against Asians (and, it must be recognized, against most Jews) Even though that’s a distinction without a difference to applicants seeking coveted spots in a limited pool, for the ADL it’s enough of a hook on which to hang its proverbial hat.

… Here’s what the ADL should have said in its brief:

1. We oppose any discrimination, because discrimination is wrong.
2. A hundred years ago, Harvard discriminated against Jews because they weren’t “White”. Now, Harvard discriminates against most Jews because they are “White”. As a champion of Jews victimized by discrimination, and a champion of fair treatment for all, the ADL opposes discrimination in any guise under any rationale.
3. Today’s legally rationalized racial discrimination has become fatally entwined with rank anti-Semitism, and Jews won’t be safe, comfortable, or welcome on campus until that poisonous ideology and the “diversity” industry that feeds it are defeated.

 

An interesting editorial from Rabbi Michael Barclay about the “secularization” of various American Jewish organizations, such as the Los Angeles Jewish Home and  Jewish Vocational Services, which are moving away from focusing on Jewish interests:

It’s not just that The Jewish Home is turning its back on being proud of its commitment to the Jewish community.  These types of subtle secularizations have been happening over the last few years as Jews on the boards of non-profit organizations want to “reach out”, be “inclusive”, and “diversify” away from being focused on the Jewish community…

It seems that 21st century American Jews are the first large cultural group willing to sabotage their identities, their purpose, and themselves in their quest for inclusiveness…

It would appear that Leftist American Jews have a very strong tendency to show that “they belong” by presenting public signals of their secular virtue.

Jonathan S. Tobin has a very polite way of saying that Leftist Jews are directly or indirectly responsible for increasing anti-Semitism in the United States.  He entitled it, “How Jewish support for ‘anti-racism’ empowered anti-Semitism”:

Major groups like the Jewish Council for Public Affairs and the Anti-Defamation League, as well as some of the major religious denominations, were also willing to lend support to a Black Lives Matter… They have largely failed to directly address the way that the BLM movement has legitimized the ideas most closely associated with it, such as critical race theory, intersectionality and white privilege. Since these concepts label Jews and Israel as privileged and treat those who call for the destruction of the one Jewish state on the planet—a racist project if ever there was one—as oppressed victims deserving of support, they essentially grant a permission slip for anti-Semitism.

Even liberal politicians now try to distance themselves from insane notions like defunding the police that are embraced by BLM and the far-left…. The organized Jewish world needs to take a hard look at its mistakes and admit that its desire to play the fashionable “anti-racist” card strengthened forces that are inimical to Jewish interests, as well as to the cause of equality and racial harmony for American society.

The headline states “New York’s Museum of Jewish Heritage bans Ron DeSantis to promote its message of inclusivity”.  Ironically, the Governor of Florida has been one of the strongest supporters of Israel and the large Jewish communities in Florida.  A commentary in the Wall Street Journal from Elliott Abrams and Eric Cohen:

A remarkable Jewish renaissance is under way in Florida. Jewish schools and synagogues are rapidly expanding. Jews from the Northeast and Midwest, as well as Latin America and Israel, are migrating to the Sunshine State in significant numbers, making the Jewish communities there lively and varied.

But we know things are bad when a Jewish institution—in this case, a museum whose purpose is to keep Jewish heritage alive by remembering the Holocaust—turns on its own and tries to make a virtue of its own intolerance.

If you’re older than a teenager, you’ve learned long ago that the Leftist Jews basically perfected hypocrisy.

If you were not aware, the over-rated Harvard University and their student paper, “The Crimson”, has recently chosen to support organizations that explicitly embrace measures to destroy the State of Israel.  In response, a Jewish student that happens to work at the Crimson paper had the courage to write an editorial about this situation:

When the Editorial Board discusses “Palestinian liberation,” does it think that, after decades of rejected peace treaties and terror, Hamas and the PA would simply acquiesce and live in harmony with their Jewish neighbors? What does the Editorial Board think “from the river to the sea” means?

Another possible explanation for the ADL’s refusal to acknowledge that Amnesty International is an anti-Semitic organization and that its “Jews are Nazis” report is endemically anti-Semitic is that the ADL has abandoned its mission of fighting anti-Semitism and replaced it with a mission of advancing anti-Semitism – at least of the progressive variety.

While there are more liberals than conservatives in the Jewish community, it is an error to consider that there is a single Jewish voice representing Judaism in the United States. Samuel J. Abrams, a professor of politics at Sarah Lawrence College, analyzed data from the recent Pew study of Jewish Americans in 2020:

Conservatives lead significantly with respect to feeling a great deal of belonging to the Jewish people (53 percent vs. 39 percent), commitment to helping Jews in need (33 percent vs. 20 percent), and, likewise, making donations to Jewish charities (50 percent vs. 32 percent). Similarly, on the question of caring for Israel, three quarters of conservative Jews (76 percent) state that concern for Israel is essential to who they are as Jews, while under a quarter (22 percent) of very liberal Jews feel the same way.

J Street has joined with several dozen largely anti-Israel groups, including some that support the BDS movement, in calling for the U.S. Senate to adopt the Gaza amendment as part of the 2022 National Defense Authority Act (NDAA).

Earlier this year, Bernie Sanders introduced legislation to block scheduled arms sales to Israel amid the 11-day conflict between Israel and Gaza terror groups in May that began with Hamas launching rockets at Israeli civilian populations.

The U.S. Senate is likely to start considering the NDAA this week, said Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

President Joe Biden appointed progressive “Rabbi” Sharon Kleinbaum to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, raising protests from American Jews. Critics, including her own congregants, accuse Kleinbaum of abusing her pulpit at New York’s Beit Simchat Torah (CBST), the world’s largest LGBTQ congregation, to repeatedly demonize Israel….Kleinbaum “bashes Israel all the time, making people get up and leave services. It’s not that she’s just anti-Israeli, it’s that she’s not neutral, as she should be. She is very vocal in her hatred towards Israel.”

“At a time when religious people are persecuted worldwide for their personal, sincere beliefs that marriage is between a man and a woman, and gender is permanent, biological, and determined at conception, placing Kleinbaum on a commission devoted to ensuring religious freedom sends precisely the wrong message and could hardly be more counter-productive,”

This situation, with hardcore Leftists pretending to practice Judaism, will lead to a greater rift and bifurcation of Jews in the United States.

It’s a shame that American Jewish organizations have turned against their fellow Jews. The worst of these is the ADL, where a recent commentary in the Geller Report noted:

According to Charles Jacobs of Americans for Peace and Tolerance, the ADL “admits in private that the biggest danger to Jews since WWII comes from Muslim Jew-hatred, but because it fears offending its liberal donors and being charged with ‘Islamophobia,’ the organization remains essentially silent on the issue. In a study of ADL press releases from 1995 to 2011– a good if not perfect indicator of ADL priorities – we found that only 3 percent of ADL’s press releases focus on Islamic extremism and Arab anti-Semitism.” In the ten years since the end of that span, the situation has only gotten worse.

A new commentary comparing the recent treatment of Jews in America to the treatment of Jews in Germany in the 1930s:

America’s Jews have reached a crossroads that points in four directions.

First, some may go off to smaller cities or towns in search of anonymity, places where they relinquish all ties with organized Jewish life and can feel safe…

A second path requires significantly beefing-up security at the grass roots level in Jewish communities throughout the United States.  Recognizing that police patrols cannot be everywhere at once, more local Jewish communities would train volunteer residents to form neighborhood defense teams…

A third road leads to Israel.  This, of course, is the most daring route.  This would resemble the increased immigration to Israel by Jews from France…

Finally, a fourth road really goes nowhere. It involves sticking it out and hoping for the best, hoping that it will pass.

Left-wing Jews have for so long championed and made their identity dependent on Black Lives Matter and Muslim/Palestinian causes, that now they have cruelly taken the side of Israel’s enemies and appear unbothered by attacks on Jews on the streets of America coming from BLM and Muslims.

This has become, sad to say, the state of Twenty-First Century American Jewishness. I have personally observed this situation for more than 30 years.   It is a consistent theme throughout Jewish history that the self-hating Jew is the greatest enemy of Judaism.

A great commentary from Dov Fischer where he identifies the sickness of the leftist Jews involved with J Street:

No one — truly no one — hates as many Jews as deeply as do Jews of the left. Of course it is a sickness.

Whole segments of J Street simply are not Jews. Yes, George Soros has been exposed for having been a major funder of J Street. But whole swaths of the J Street membership are not even Jews…. Like all such Jewish haters of Jews, just like the wide swaths of pseudo-Jews in J Street, these haters come prepared to counter criticism with the line: “But I am Jewish.”  That nonsense may work for the New York Times and for leftist Jews who predominate CNN, MSNBC, so many other television news outlets, and organizations like the ADL and their ilk.

In the late 1940s, there were less than 3,000 Jews that were members of the Irgun, which was a militant organization defending Jews and the re-creation of Israel.  I hate to admit that I have something in common with the head of J Street, Jeremy Ben Ami, and the former mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel —  Our fathers were all active member of the Irgun.   Of course, the sons of Ben Ami and Emanuel took different paths in life from yours truly when they turned into hard core, self-hating leftist Jews.

The leftist Jewish leader of the American Federation of Teachers  (who in America today thinks that this is a noble organization?), Randi Weingarten claimed that American Jews are bad people that want to take opportunity away from minorities.  Similar to many American leftists, she claims that every left-wing cause is a “Jewish Value”.   This could not be further from the truth. As David Harsayni noted:

There is no Jewish value that tells us to undermine the ability of parents to choose where their kids learn. There is no Jewish value that tells us to keep poor minority kids stuck in failing schools. Nothing in the Mishna (that is, if the Congregation Beit Simchat Torah still deems the antiquated text worthy of reading) says that moms should be forced to stay home and watch their kids even though there is little risk to their getting sick in school.

It’s a shame but Weingarten is clearly a moral and professional nincompoop…   Once again, she helps illustrate that the greatest threat to Judaism everywhere are leftist American Jews.

I never thought that I’d be positively quoting an article from a center-left, former journalist from the New York Times, but this commentary from Bari Weiss does a great job at highlighting what is happening with (or ‘to’) Jews in America.  It’s a relatively long article — and I don’t agree with all of her positions or statements — but it identifies how the Democrat and Leftist VAJINOs are no friend of American Jews.

Her first comments are about Jewish Democrats doing everything they can to stay in good graces with the crazy hard core Leftists that now run the Democrat party:

The confusion—and there seems to be a good deal of it these days—is among American Jews who think that by submitting to ever-changing loyalty tests they can somehow maintain the old status quo and their place inside of it.

The ADL is back in the news again making a hard push against Republicans. The ADL is circulating a petition among Jewish organizations urging them to criticize President Trump.  The ADL is similar to many of the pusillanimous Leftist Jewish organizations attempting to curry favor with the Goyim… Caroline Glick summarizes it well:

The ADL is a progressive Democrat pressure group, not a Jewish civil rights group. It uses the language of fighting anti-Semitism to blind American Jews to actual anti-Semitism on the left.

The simplest explanation for the ADL orientation starts by understanding the ADL leadership.  Not surprisingly the CEO is Jonathan Greenblatt, who is a former Obama administration official.

As a 501(c)3 charity,  according to the IRS, the ADL is “absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office.”  Hmmm, kinda makes you wonder.

It’s rather ironic having the former leader of a VAJINO organization such as the Anti-Defamation League (note that there is nothing specific about Jewish interests in the ADL name or cause) come out publicly and claim that Trump is bad for the Jews.  It appears that Foxman comes from the same gene pool as those expats from Egypt who decided that praying to a golden calf was more important than supporting Judaism — that is, he is presenting himself as having the proper credentials and viewpoint of an American Jewish Leftist.  His substantiation for his position is classic Leftist drivel, or “look who is calling the kettle black”:

My reasoning is simple and stark: Trump’s presidency — in spirit and in deed — has given succor to bigots, supremacists, and those seeking to divide our society.

Oh, I see.  The avowed hate organizations such as Black Lies Matter, Council for American Islamic Retardation, and Antifactual are wonderful for the Jews.  These hate-mongering groups have nothing to do with bigotry or those seeking to divide our country.

Let’s examine Biden’s record as it relates to Jews and Israel during the two-terms of the Obama administration:

It was Obama-Biden that rewarded the Palestinian Authority (PA) with taxpayer dollars despite it handing out millions of dollars to PA terrorists for killing Americans and Israelis… pressured Israel to withdraw to indefensible borders, release Palestinian terrorists from jail, divide Israel’s capital Jerusalem, refrain from building homes, and more… got in bed with Iran, the world’s single largest state sponsor of terrorism… refused to oppose the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanction (BDS) movement… Obama-Biden actually instigated the humiliation of Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Danon.

As covered on numerous occasions by knowledgeable pundits such as Dennis Prager, Caroline Click, Daniel Greenfield, and others, many American Jews have elected to embrace the tenants of Leftism over anything close to the beliefs of Judaism or Zionism.  It’s more than just the self-hating Jews and VAJINOs.  It’s also the naive Jews who virtue signal by promoting the NAACP, SPLC, CAIR, and/or Black Lives Matter over their own self-interests.  Our friends quickly overlook that these organizations openly oppose Jews and Israel. Unfortunately, this mentality of appeasing your enemies is the same reason that so many Jews perished in the gas chambers of Europe during World War 2.

It is difficult to comprehend that there are so many pusillanimous Jewish organizations — J Street, The New Israel Fund, Union of Reform Judaism, National Council of Jewish Women.  All of the groups work with avowed anti-Semitic organizations and focus first and foremost on policies of the Democrat party.

Now we have a VAJINO pundit, Peter Beinert, attempting to play the role of the 21st Century position of Neville Chamberlain.  He proclaims that we should give up the Jewish character of Israel and just make it another Moslem country (does it sound like offering the Sudetenland to the Nazis?).    He explains that this will bring peace to the world…. Oh boy.

The Jewish leftist slide toward causes that are contrary to the interests of Judaism continue unabated in the United States.  The latest is the action taken by the umbrella organization for the major American Jewish organizations, which has selected a New York leftist Jew to lead the group.  This avowed leftist was formerly the head of a HIAS, an organization that has metamorphosed into an immigration funnel responsible for bringing the avowed enemies of the Jewish people into the US — namely Middle Eastern Moslems.  As Caroline Glick has so plainly noted:

HIAS’s contribution to Muslim immigration to the U.S. is significant for two key reasons. First it is indisputable that many of the Muslims immigrating to the U.S. are anti-Semitic. As ZOA noted, “according to the ADL Global 100 Antisemitism Index, in 16 Muslim majority Middle Eastern countries, 74% to 93% of the population is antisemitic.”… The second reason HIAS’s efforts to bring Muslims to America is significant is because in its work in this arena HIAS has collaborated with Islamic groups associated with Islamic terrorist organizations.

• The first is white nationalist anti-Semitism. It is practiced by white individuals and groups ideologically aligned with the Nazis.
• The second anti-Semitism is leftist anti-Semitism. Leftist anti-Semites get their ideological inspiration from the Soviet Union and the PLO/Hamas.
• The third type of active anti-Semitism in the US today is black anti-Semitism.

She then defines two hard truths for the leftist American Jewry:

First, liberal American Jews need to realize their local and national leaders have been lying to them….African Americans are on average around twice as likely to be anti-Semitic as the general population…

The second inconvenient truth the American Jewish community needs to get its head around is that the Democratic Party has become fully Corbyized. Like Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party today’s Democratic Party abets anti-Semites and anti-Semitism in America.

They refuse to acknowledge the political and social consequences of the mass influx of Muslim immigrants — who have grown up steeped in anti-democratic and antisemitic beliefs — into Western societies. They do so even when they know that this influx threatens to force the Jews out of Europe. They fail to understand how promoting tolerance of the intolerant may be lethal.

To be clear: we are referring to establishment national Jewish organizations, not to the many brave and dedicated smaller Jewish groups who fight BDS on campus, and anti-Israel bias in the media, K-12 curricula, and liberal churches. Indeed, most of these start-up groups were formed as a direct result of the decades-long failure of the ADL, the Federations, and the JCRCs to fight what is now recognized as “the new antisemitism.”

Of course, the authors recognize that — while history may not repeat itself — it certainly rhymes:

Liberal Jews pounced on the message and ran with it. Halie Soifer, the executive director of the Jewish Democratic Council of America accused Trump of being “partially responsible” for the rise of anti-Semitism in America.  “We said it before and we’ll say it again – Donald Trump is the biggest threat to American Jews,” she added.

Luckily, as Trump’s consistent record of support for Israel and the Jews in America and worldwide and as his warmth for Jewish people makes clear, the President doesn’t have an anti-Semitic bone in his body. And he won’t become an anti-Semite no matter how poorly the American Jewish establishment treats him.

The greatest risks to Jewish continuity in America are collapsing fertility, spiraling intermarriage, and diminishing literacy… According to Pew, intermarriage among liberal Jews is running between 50% and 70%.  At that rate, two or three of the four members of the latest generation will marry outside the faith.

Here is a recent observation about Bernie Sanders and his support for Jews and Israel:

Consider Bernie Sanders’ essay last week on “How to Fight Anti-Semitism” at the Jewish Currents website. It offered no instruction on fighting anti-Semitism, but instead alternated between criticizing Israel and pretending anti-Semitism doesn’t exist on the left.

Sanders limited all discussion of anti-Semitism to fringe white nationalists. He even blamed regular attacks on Jews in Brooklyn on the ideology of a “whites-only America.” In reality, as Armin Rosen reported in an exposé for Tablet, “the perpetrators who have been recorded on CCTV cameras are overwhelmingly black and Hispanic.”

Meanwhile, in the UK, many Jews that used to support the Labor Party (roughly comparable to the US Democrats) have finally figured out that support for the Labor Party is suicidal.

Here is another interesting commentary about American Jewish support for the Democrat party.  Abraham Miller clearly establishes that most American Jews won’t abandon the leftist Democrats even as anti-Semitism becomes a central part of their plank.

Nothing seems to dissolve the sinew that ties Jews to the Democrats. President Obama’s association with the anti-Semitic Rev. Jeremiah Wright brought a collective yawn. Photos of Barrack Obama embracing the Rev. Louis Farrakhan, who compared Jews to termites, did not concern them… President Obama’s trafficking with anti-Semites was that he was so popular with American Jews that had he nuked Tel Aviv, he would have lost no more than 30% of the Jewish vote.

The future of Jews in the Democratic party is already written in the workings of the British Labour Party, which is infused with a virulent anti-Semitism enhanced by its leader, Jeremy Corbyn. Dame Louise Ellman, who has been a vocal critic of Corbyn’s venomous anti-Semitism, faced an ouster vote, which the local party members scheduled for Yom Kippur eve, the holiest night of the Jewish calendar. The timing was hardly coincidental. Ellman eventually quit.

It will not end well for the Jews. The British Labour Party is transmitting that message. Will Jews recognize their political self-interest before it is too late?

Another editorial about the pusillanimous nature of American Jewry:

Many of those running Jewish organizations and non-Orthodox synagogue and temples have for decades made helping other minorities the centerpiece of their ideological life and, thus, will never spotlight the anti-Semitism coming from members of the minority community, since it would shatter all they believe in…

Major Jewish organizations will not imperil the Left or the “social justice” causes; they have chosen liberalism and the Democratic party over particular Jewish needs.  Jewish politicians such as Chuck Schumer, Eliot Engel, Nita Lowey, Steve Cohen, Jan Schakowsky, and Adam Schiff, for example, have been silent about the Omar/Tlaib/Ocasio-Cortez anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel…

We, the grassroots, will have to defend the Jewish people, defend ourselves in our neighborhoods. Self-defense is a biblical mandate, a mitzvah.  At the rally, we chanted: “Jews Fight Back.” It’s time Jews carried an aura of self-respect, an aura of self-value, so that would-be perpetrators know their attacks come with a downside for them.

Sadly, we the Jewish people are complicit in our own victimhood, making excuses for and throwing in our lot with the Democratic half of the political system…American Jewry, being so closely associated with the Democratic Party, seem to suffer from perpetual numbness.  It seems as if almost no one in the Democratic Party will stand up for American Jews despite the obligatory calls for tolerance, yet any real action is clearly missing and not a part of the public discourse concerning the epidemic of anti-Semitic attacks throughout America.

In March, Slotkin accused President Donald Trump of pushing antisemitism.   Slotkin has not accused either Omar or Tlaib of advancing antisemitism.

It doesn’t get much crazier than this… fresh from the People’s Republic of California is a proposed Democrat resolution linking Israeli government to massacre at Pittsburgh synagogue.

The resolution blasting Israel’s purported role in furthering white supremacy was authored by David Mandel, an elected state Assembly delegate and progressive attorney… he suggested, Israel officials did bear some indirect responsibility for both anti-Semitic and Islamophobic violence.

Some of the draft resolutions would mandate that Democrat officials work to “nullify” President Trump’s pro-Israel policies. One document directs party officials to take a subsidized trip to Israel only “if they undertake to devote an equal amount of time to visiting Palestinian towns, villages and refugee camps in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.”

This position is reflective of one of the oldest tactics used by anti-Semites: “It’s the Jews’ fault that we’re killing them”.

It’s like we say, the Leftist Jews are the greatest enemies of Judaism.

Henry Roth writes with incredulity about most American Jews expressing their strong preference for Democrats:

Despite my pleas and despite the best efforts of many Jewish and non-Jewish commentators and community leaders, a majority of American Jews still profess a strong preference for the Democratic Party. The election of unabashed [Democrat] Jew-haters such as Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib didn’t move the needle.

If everything that the Democratic party has done for the past 10 years to undermine Israel’s interests hasn’t lifted the veil from Jewish voters’ eyes, then I just don’t know what it will take to make these [American] Jews realize that they are an enormous, disproportionate part of the problem, not the solution, when it comes to the question of Israel and the future safety and security of the Jewish people.

Meanwhile, Hillbilly Jews that I know clearly understand that most American Jews are first and foremost VAJINOs with a strong preference for everything progressive (i.e., they are better thought of as the ‘Lost Cause’).  The Leftist American Jews reflect the same position as the European Jews of the early part of the 20th century.

It is at this point that fair-minded people must ask themselves how the influence of the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic left can be contained, let alone rolled back. The evidence coming out of trendy Austin is that as far as the Democratic Party is concerned, it’s a lost cause.

You may have noticed the contradictory situation where the advancement of anti-Semitism in the United States now actively being supported by the Leftist Jews of the New York Times…  Dennis Prager posed the basic question:

“Why would The New York Times, published in the city where more Jews live than any other city in the world outside of Israel, whose publisher is a Jew and whose editors are disproportionately Jewish, publish a Nazi-like anti-Semitic cartoon?”

Brett Stephens, formerly of the Wall Street Journal, provides the answer:

“The reason is the almost torrential criticism of Israel and the mainstreaming of anti-Zionism, including by this paper, which has become so common that people have been desensitized to its inherent bigotry. So long as anti-Semitic arguments or images are framed, however speciously, as commentary about Israel, there will be a tendency to view them as a form of political opinion, not ethnic prejudice. But as I noted in a Sunday Review essay in February, anti-Zionism is all but indistinguishable from anti-Semitism in practice and often in intent, however much progressives try to deny this.”

To provide historical context for the anti-Semitism of the New York Times, there is a recent commentary from David Lazarus where he explains the role of the Reformed/Leftist American Jews:

What most people don’t know is that the Times’predisposition to unjustly criticizing Israel goes back 120 years, when a Reformed Jew bought the newspaper… These Reformed Jews feared that building a Jewish nation would call into question the loyalty of American Jews to the United States, and thereby foment antisemitism… The anti-Zionist and anti-Israel stance remained entrenched in the newspaper even throughout the days of WWII, when Jews were trying to flee Nazi Germany to their homeland in Israel… Reformed American Council for Judaism and the publisher of the Times continued to oppose Zionism even in 1948.

People often ask me why I dislike Leftist VAJINOs so much…  In the simplest terms, history has shown that the self-hating Jews (exhibited now frequently by American Leftists with Jewish lineage) is often the greatest threat to the survival of Judaism. A recent article provides a good example of a Leftist American Jew, Bernie Sanders, exhibiting implicit support for the enemies of the Jews:

[Bernie] with a Jewish background, and many family members, including his uncle Abraham Schnützer, who remained in Poland killed by the Nazis, Mr Sanders, a self-described socialist, has chosen to side with the antiSemitic ‘progressives’ in Congress, including those like Mrs Hirsi and Representative Rashida Harbi Tlaib (D-MI 13^th District), rather than the survivors of the Holocaust.

When American members of If Not Now or Jewish Voice for Peace seem to echo the propaganda of Israel’s deadly enemies, Israelis are shocked that Jews could speak that way about the only Jewish state. But note that while anti-Israel Jews may add “as a Jew…” to their attacks, for rhetorical purposes, either they are really speaking “as progressives,” or worse, “as Tikkun-Olam Jews,” secular humanists with some vestigial trappings of Judaism.

Liberal American Jews are sticking with the Democratic Party, and moving leftward – and away from Israel – along with it. It’s not just politics. Assimilation and intermarriage is increasing, and Jewish identification is decreasing. There is no special reason to oppose the drift of their party. So why is it a surprise that most Jews vote leftists? Most Jews aren’t Jewish in any real sense beyond ethnic identification. They have nothing to do with Torah, the five books of Moses. They have nothing to do with the ethical system posited by Biblical Judaism. They have nothing to do with the mitzvot, the commandments. They have nothing to do with Israel.

Indeed, despite the impression left by some progressive Jews, the largest threat to Jews in America stems not from the isolated and pathetically small lunatic fringe of white supremacists. The most anti-Israel members of Congress, as well as on the local level, come primarily not from the right wing of the GOP but the burgeoning left wing of the Democratic Party.

Do you need some examples?  You don’t even have to mention the Jew-hating Moslems and Socialists in Congress…  Here are just a few of the most obnoxious Jewish Leftists in the Democrat Party that continually demonstrate their lack of support for anything Jewish or Israel:

Well, here you go.  A commentary from a hard core leftist American Jew with a distorted view of reality. He proclaims that any American Jew that does not support the position of  the Democrat Socialists is — get this one — “a collaborator in white supremacy”.

Yet even as white nationalists wish us dead, a shocking number of Jews have become willing collaborators in white supremacy — not only public bigots such as Ben Shapiro and David Horowitz, but kapos in the openly ethnonationalist Trump regime, such as Stephen Miller or Jared Kushner.

Other minorities make this bargain too, sometimes — look at Ben Carson and Clarence Thomas — but Jews more easily succumb because so many of us easily pass as white.

I read this article and thought “this can’t really be an educated person’s opinion”.  In fact, I checked to see if the source was a satirical site such as the Onion or the Babylon Bee…  It appears that this guy defines anyone that does not tow the Democrat worldview as a sycophant in support of bad people.

I suppose the leftists have given up any notion of rational discourse, and instead they have to decided to adopt the Jussie Smollet approach to reality and persuasion.

The few of us American Jews that don’t subscribe to modern leftism clearly understand the moral bankruptcy of many VAJINO organizations:

Now the ADL is just one more left-wing group, “a radical extension of the Democratic Party,” according to  Isi Leibler, a prominent worldwide Jewish leader writing in the Jerusalem Post.  The only anti-Semitism that it will fight is that of the tiny fringe group of white supremacists.  The greater danger of the radical left and Muslim activists gets a pass.  The Boycott Divestment Sanctions (BDS) movement, declared anti-Semitic by the American government, is supported by Democratic politicians and so ADL won’t fight it.  ADL actively supports the Marxist anti-Semitic group Black Lives Matter, which “incorporates anti-Israel passages in its platform and campaigns against anti-boycott legislation.”

This past decade has been one of unprecedented passivity and cowardice by the Jewish establishment. It failed to speak out against Obama’s anti-Israel bias and remained silent when the ADL, J Street, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, the National Council of Jewish Women, progressive rabbis and other Jews engaged in the primitive defamation of Trump from Jewish platforms.

The old expression about history comes into play here: “History may not repeat itself, but it certainly rhymes”.  The current positions of American Leftists feels very reminiscent of the early 20th century when many Jews were the early supporters of the Russian Bolsheviks and the German Socialists… and we know how they turned out.

Naturally, he further defends Omar by claiming that her critics are guilty of hating black Moslems…

And critics of the critics should be called to task when their rhetoric crosses the line to Islamophobia and racism.

Mr. Ben-Ami has made a career of being a 21st century Kapo.  It would be interesting to see how he would perform in a Middle Eastern, Moslem-majority nation.

One litmus test for the support of Jewish American Leftists is how they react to overt gestures of anti-Semitism.   On one hand, Leftist Jews somehow twisted any sense of logic and blamed Trump for the massacre at the synagogue in Pittsburgh.  Meanwhile, we have the two Democrat Moslems recently voted into the US Congress who have a documented history of anti-Semitism…  How are the Leftist Jewish organizations in the United States reacting to these gestures:

The left-leaning Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the nation’s largest Jewish civil rights group, has declined to weigh in on Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s latest tie to anti-Semitism.

I suppose that the ADL is following the old dictum: “Better to Remain Silent and Be Thought a Fool than to Speak and Remove All Doubt.”

It’s going to become interesting to see how the American Jews that provide blanket support for the Democrats rationalize their political party’s emerging positions of strong anti-Semitism.  An example is New York Senator Charles Schumer, who in 2017 came out publicly to properly exclaim that anti-Zionism is a reinvented form of anti-Semitism.

“The idea that all other peoples can seek and defend their right to self-determination but the Jewish people cannot; that other nations have a right to exist but the Jewish State of Israel does not, that, too, is a modern form of anti-Semitism”

Now with two Democrat Moslems in the House of Representatives that are avowed enemies of the Jewish people, it’s going to become more difficult for Jews to ignore the obvious conflicts.  At this point, Schumer and most of the Democrat Jews just attempt to sweep the aggressive statements made by their peers under the table.

As crazy as it seems, nine Leftist rabbis in New York endorsed the Women’s March after meeting with avowed anti-Semites, Linda Sarsour and Tamika Mallory.  Once again, Leftist American Jews prove that the causes of co-called “social justice” outweigh any other priority.

The signatories of the letter are Rabbis Barat Ellman, Rachel Goldenberg, Lauren Grabelle Hermann, Lisa Grant, Sharon Kleinbaum, Ellen Lippmann, Mike Rothbaum, Joshua Stanton and Nancy Wiener…. Ellman is the the mother of Women’s March staffer Sophie Ellman-Golan and Kleinbaum works at New York’s LGBTQ synagogue, Congregation Beit Simchat Torah. From the one that helped us start this post, a Caroline Glick commentary about the New York Times and its Leftist Jewish writers that actively support the convoluted logic of anti-semitism (Michele Goldberg, Bret Stephens, Bari Weiss, etc.):

The New York Times has never been a big fan of Israel, or non-assimilated and non-leftist Jews for that matter. But it’s hard to escape the impression that the Times has decided to intensify its hostile stance towards Israel, Israeli Jews, and American Jews who support Israel

What may be worse is the Times’ campaign to effectively disenfranchise American Jews. The paper undertakes this campaign by using its pages to legitimize antisemitism emanating from the left, delegitimize friends of Jews on the political right, and shame American Jews who stubbornly refuse to abandon Israel, or turn their back on Israel’s friends. These American Jews also impertinently notice the galloping Jew hatred on the political left.

The Hillbilly Jews in Ohio understand how the Leftist Jews in New York attempt to curry favor with the Goyim.  Unfortunately, selling out your fellow Jew is central to the history of the Jewish people, and started with the Goshen ‘resistance’ against Moses in Egypt.

Jonathan S. Tobin, editor in chief of Jewish News Syndicate, comments about the recent Democrat attacks on a judicial candidate that is a member of a Catholic organization. He exclaims that this should alarm Jews who care about religious freedom… but so far the Jewish world has remained silent.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) sought to grill Brian Buescher, a federal district court nominee from Nebraska, by submitting questions for the record that singled him out because he is a member of the Knights of Columbus… rather than probe Buescher’s qualifications for the bench, the question seemed aimed at creating a religious test that could potentially brand anyone who subscribed to Catholic teachings as off-limits for high office.

I don’t know why he is surprised.  The Jewish Left isn’t concerned about any religion, much less do they care about Catholicism or Judaism.

With Congress open, top GOP Senate leaders had scheduled a vote Tuesday to move forward on what congressional insiders describe as a “mega” pro-Israel bill, including measures addressing Israel and Jordan’s security and addressing boycotts of Israel,… Top Democrats signaled Sunday they would not allow consideration of the legislation. Sens. Chris Van Hollen (D., Md.), Ben Cardin (D., Md.), and Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) all came out against a vote on the pro-Israel legislation.

Here’s another article about the inane logic of Leftist American Jewry and their twisting of biblical verses in an attempt to justify their leftist beliefs:

Using Biblical texts as a pretext for their political attitudes is little different than excising and applying, out of context, various New Testament sayings in order to prove that Jews have been rejected and a new covenant has been established. American Jewry apparently has been infected by a moral virus; a contemporary strain of the medieval St. Vitus’ dance syndrome. Symptomatic is their knee jerk derision of everything Israel does and of their hatred for Netanyahu and Trump.

Some Jews sought to act and formed the Jewish Defense League and exercise their right of self-defense only to discover that they were ostracized by other Jews and called thugs. Jews have yet to realize that only they can protect themselves from anti-Semitism. While anti-Semitism is a Christian and Islamic ideology, only Jews can reduce its toxic effects upon society.

Well, it looks like it’s becoming open Moslem warfare on Jews in the United States.   Roger L. Simon writes about the attempt at terrorism by a Black Moslem in Los Angeles, and the Leftist Jewish reaction:

[T]oday’s anti-Semitism is largely, with minor sporadic exceptions, the product of an unholy alliance between the left and Islam…

Meanwhile, the BDS movement on American campuses has become chic, with resistance, at best, sporadic… UCLA might as well be an outpost of Tehran or Mecca, even though Los Angeles has a half-million Jews. Columbia University, the city with the most Jews in the entire world, is even worse. Call it an outpost of Hamas.

“Liberal” Jews can’t face the reality of all this or don’t want to, so they ignore it and don’t think about it, continuing to spout bromides that were tired in the 1930s.

From the New York Post, an article about American Jews turning a blind-eye to Leftist anti-semitism:

Under his [Greenblatt’s] leadership, the ADL opposed, on the flimsiest grounds, Mike Pompeo’s nomination as secretary of state. The ADL also joined the left’s crusade against Brett Kavanaugh, and it has repeatedly clashed with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

But the Greenblatt ADL has been far more reluctant to condemn Democratic firebrand Keith Ellison’s long record of Israel-bashing. Indeed, Greenblatt embraced Ellison in 2016, when the Minnesota congressman ran for deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Beinart writes that the “BDS movement doesn’t officially oppose the existence of a Jewish state, but some of its most prominent advocates do.” So leaders of the movement want to destroy Israel, but the movement isn’t tainted by them? Where else would this be an acceptable line of argument? If white nationalists marched for gay rights, which liberal would disregard their outsize hate and focus on the one point of agreement? It’s laughable.

The articles about American Jewry are starting to appear in many places.  An opinion piece by Martin Ingall exclaims that the future of the Jewish population in the US will be based on the Orthodox branch:

The liberal American Jewish population is shrinking dramatically while Orthodoxy continues to grow. The American Jewish future is Orthodox…. For many years Orthodox Jews recognized, if begrudgingly, that the Reform, Conservative and Reconstructionist movements had appeal for Jews who were religiously uneducated or did not affirm Jewish law, or whose agnosticism meant discomfort with traditional Judaism.

So much of liberalism is so at odds with traditional Judaism it’s hard to know where to start.  Moral relativism; multiculturalism; rejection of religion; globalism; elevation of the group over the individual; exchange of God-given rights for government-conferred rights; inversion of private property; casting aside the preciousness of every soul.  This is on top of contemporary liberalism’s rejection of the American idea and its vehement denial of the nature of Islam.

It’s common for Moslem terrorists to attempt to infiltrate the cities in Israel by wearing outfits that are typically associated with Orthodox Jews — black hats, long side burns (payot), long tassels (tzitzit), etc.  It’s interesting that this same technique is used by leftist American Jews (also known as VAJINOs – Very Abrasive Jews in Name Only) to pretend to represent broad Jewish support for their “causes”.

Daniel Greenfield has an article about far left VAJINO groups that presents themselves to the media wearing Orthodox clothing.  It’s all an attempt to portray support that does not exist:

Torah Trumps Hate and Hitoreri, which often appear to be interchangeable, recently attacked the National Council of Young Israel for praising President Trump’s condemnation of anti-Semitism…Its activism borrows the style of anti-Israel hate groups such as If Not Now which targets legitimate Jewish organizations in support of radical lefty causes.

Fake Orthodox Jews campaigning against Trump would not have a fraction of the attention without a fake news media that gives them millions of dollars worth of unearned publicity.

I’ve been sounding apocalyptic about this lately, but let me repeat: a Neo-Nazi murdered eleven Jews, and the immediate and continuing reaction of a very vocal segment of American Jewry has been to use the occasion to attack fellow Jews.

It should not be surprising that after the mass murder spree at the Pittsburgh synagogue, there are already Leftist Jews coming forward to blame this travesty on Trump and Netanyahu:

Jewish-American writer David Simon slammed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Twitter, claiming Netanyahu aided US President Donald Trump to be elected and that, in turn, enabled the rise of American fascism.

Here is an another one in the form of a tweet from American Leftist, Aaron David Miller, the pseudo-intellectual that is responsible for helping to make concessions to Moslem terrorists:

The price many in the American Jewish community pay for supporting a preternaturally pro-Netanyahu President isn’t worth the moral hazard and risks it now confronts.

Here’s a provocative quote from Franklin Foer, clearly showing that most left-leaning American Jews are always blame their fellow Jews for antisemitism:

Any strategy for enhancing the security of American Jewry should involve shunning Trump’s Jewish enablers. Their money should be refused, their presence in synagogues not welcome.

Unfortunately, this is the common Leftist Jewish pathology since the exodus from Egypt — blame your fellow Jews as the source of your problems.  My father experienced this situation in Israel in the 1940s when he chose to fight in the Irgun for the re-creation of the Jewish homeland — the Leftist Jew always finds a way to side with the enemies of the Jewish people.

These are some very pertinent comments from Caroline Glick about  American Jews attending to self-defense:

Every time I see American Jewish groups campaigning for gun confiscation (otherwise known as gun control), I scratch my head in disbelief. Who do they think their actions will disarm? Do they really believe that denying themselves the means to defend themselves will make them safer? How exactly will that goal be achieved?

Dov Marhoffer, a Holocaust concentration camp survivor and an advocate for Jews owning firearms notes:

“Jews cannot disarm themselves in synagogues or anywhere else for pacifist or utopian reasons because enemies will always seek to exterminate them. Even one armed Jewish man or woman in that synagogue could have made a positive difference,”

We hillbilly Jews in Ohio have our own worldview about being responsible for our own families and well being.  We’ve been carrying concealed protection to the synagogue and Jewish gatherings for many years.  In fact, I don’t visit my cousin’s house for a Passover Seder without carrying my pistol.

There appears to be an ever increasing quantity of articles now about the negative impact of American “non-Jewish Jews”.  Here is an example of pertinent commentary from Israpundit:

There is no disputing that, except for the vast majority of Orthodox Jews, American Jews and their leaders have distanced themselves from their Jewish identity…. The sad reality is that today, the bulk of youngsters from the non-Orthodox sector are what should be described as non-Jewish Jews because their sole link to their people is through Jewish descent – frequently, from only one parent. They have little or no conception of Jewish values or interest in their Jewish heritage…

These Jews not only adhere to but are often at the forefront of the anti-Trump hysteria. Non-Orthodox Jewish organizational leaders – even traditional Zionists – remain silent or cozy up to their liberal constituencies even as Donald Trump treats Israel better than any previous American president… In the current atmosphere, Jewish identity is submerged by the paranoid hatred against Trump by liberal Jews who continue to mourn his election.

A recent analysis of the resurgence of Anti-Semitism in the United States, and the connections to Democrats and African Americans:

Anti-Semitism has been making a comeback. It has been making a comeback in European, to the point of infesting major political parties, like the British Labour Party. But it is also making a comeback in America where frankly anti-Semitic candidates are running for office, nearly always under the banner of the Democratic Party.

In America, anti-Semitism is mostly being fomented within the African-American community, led by leaders like Louis Farrakhan and Jeremiah Wright. Leftist Americans need African-American votes, so they dare not denounce these purveyors of anti-Semitism.

A recent article  in FrontPage mag where the author highlights the convoluted and self-serving logic of the American Leftist Jews:

In the spirit of always accusing others of your sins, Dana Milbank at the Washington Post starts off with a rant accusing Israel of having abandoned Zionism by seizing land to being an apartheid state.  And alienating people like him….

Just as Milbank and his “we’s” have redefined Judaism to mean anything and everything except the continuity of the Jewish people, its traditions and beliefs, they’ve redefined Zionism to mean anything and everything except the survival and continuity of Israel…

The people calling Israel an “apartheid state” were never Zionists. They might occasionally visit Israel. They vaguely liked the idea of there being an Israel. As long as it didn’t clash with their leftist politics.

Now that it has, they insist that Israel’s survival is anti-Zionist. But while they play their Orwellian word games, the actual Zionism of Jewish families settling, working and loving the land thrives.

A great commentary on American Judaism and Socialism from Alexander Markovsky who says “Even if Moses endorsed Donald Trump, Jews would still not vote for him“:

In many ways, the 1917 socialist revolution in Russia was in fact a Jewish revolution.  Jews founded and shaped the Soviet state.  Yet these same Jewish Bolsheviks quickly became the first state’s victims.  Over the next twenty years, by 1937, practically all of them were executed or murdered abroad.

In the late 1920s, some German Jews voted for Hitler’s National Socialist Party, only to become victims of the Holocaust a decade later.  They chose to ignore Hitler’s anti-Semitic rhetoric; he could not be bad, much less evil.  After all, he was a socialist!

What is really remarkable is that over the last century, no social macrocosm has more consistently voted against its own self-interest and survival.  We may expose Jewish devotion to socialism and shame Jews for betraying their own interests; however, conviction is stronger than reason.

The ever-continuing saga of American Leftist Jewish organizations providing support for their mortal enemies:

A Synagogue in Minnesota is at the center of controversy in the Jewish community for their decision to host an anti-Jewish, pro-Hamas Muslim candidate for a political forum this month… As if Sarsour’s lengthy resume of prolonged Jew hatred isn’t enough of a reason for Jewish organizations to distance themselves from her or anyone associated with her, she was also photographed smiling in front of a swastika, the symbol of the Nazis who killed six million Jews during the Holocaust…

It is worth noting that JCRC (Jewish Community Relations Council) chose to not denounce Omar and her anti-Israel pro-Hamas rhetoric and positions.

The Leftist Jew always believes in the Neville Chamberlain principle of “I’ll be nice to my enemies, and then they will be nice to me”.  The reality is that for the lack of any backbone, the enemy instead chooses to kill you.

An interesting commentary in the New York Post about the Leftist American Jewish focus on ‘social justice’:

When two of the Jewish community’s most celebrated writers, Michael Chabon and his wife Ayelet Waldman [Note: I’ve never heard of either of these writers], write an open letter stating that: “Any Jew, anywhere, who does not act to oppose President Donald Trump and his administration acts in favor of anti-Semitism…” [If they’re leftist Jews, I’m sure that their ancestors also disliked capitalism and supported the National Socialist Party in Germany].

Since then, we have been led to believe that the purpose of the Jews in the world is to campaign for higher taxes, sexual permissiveness, reduced military spending, illegal immigration, opposition to fracking, the banishment of religion from the public square and every other liberal cause under the sun — all in the name of God [Yep, that’s the Leftist Jewish position]

What is needed is a real Jewish renewal — a community that stands for religious liberty, not against it; affirms the alliance between America and Israel, rather than undermines it; and above all believes it is a community that has a compelling reason to persist.

A very good commentary from Daniel Grenfield about how an American organization created to defend the Jews has placed more emphasis on supporting their leftist vision:

The ADL has been irrelevant for 50 years… Its full organizational name, the Anti-Defamation League, like that of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, is rarely used because that identity and mission lie in another era…. the ADL still refuses to confront the left because, like most liberals, it believes that it is on the left.

The left needs an “other” to personalize its abstract hatreds. Jews fill the traditional role of the “other” as scapegoat. And anti-Semitism serves the same function on the left as it did throughout history.

The left can make Jews embody capitalism, whiteness, nationalism, war crimes, exploitation and every evil. The Jews control the weather, a lefty councilman claims, and the left rushes to defend him. The Jews are killing Palestinian babies, stealing organs, training police to shoot black people and controlling the world’s wealth. It’s the same old bigotry in a keffiyah. And it serves the same tawdry function.

The ADL failed to stand up the left. And like other liberal collaborators, it will be replaced with a leftist Yevsektsiya that will divide its time between condemning Israel and denouncing Jews as bigots who need to be reeducated about their privilege and their complicity in whiteness. And then it will get ugly.

Even though I have undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering, computer science, and accounting, I often describe myself as a ‘Hillbilly Jew’.  This means that I am about as far away from the leftist American Jewish outlook that you can possibly get.  I grew up in Southwest Ohio, the son of an Israeli father and a Zionist mother, who sent me to a Jewish elementary school.  Other than learning about Judaism, my early life was about playing ice hockey, racing motocross, and shooting guns — all activities that are very foreign to most American Jews.

My family is tired of hearing me complain about Leftist Jews, but I’ve starting noticing other writers that have also grown weary of the American VAJINOs (Very Abrasive Jews In Name Only).  The VAJINOs believe that their primary mission in life is to support the social justice warriors (including those that hate Jews and Israel):

I want a divorce from the liberal and progressive American Jewish community. From those American Jews who believe that they have a special right to judge and advise the state of Israel because their parents were Jewish.

…

Progressive American Jews are no different from progressive American non-Jews. You read the same New York Times and listen to the same NPR on your way to work. You voted (twice) for the same Barack Obama and hate the same Donald Trump just as passionately.  For many of you, it would not be a personal tragedy if Israel were destroyed.

Well, Caroline has gone and done it again.  She’s followed up her earlier editorial with this provocative commentary:

Most American Jews make their home on the political Left, and together with black Americans they comprise the most loyal Democratic voting bloc. American Jews have clung to the Democratic Party despite the fact that over the past decade and a half, their position in the party has become increasingly precarious.

…

On the one hand then, we have the Jewish Democrats who are faced with a party that is increasingly controlled by anti-Semitic forces. And on the other hand we are in the midst of the collective political suicide of the Jewish Republican establishment.

It is hard to know how Israel will be affected by the dramatic enfeeblement of the American Jewish community that we are now witnessing. The fact remains that the vast majority of American support for Israel comes from the evangelical Christian community.

What is clear enough though is that the political waning of the Jewish community across the political spectrum means that the golden era of American Jewry is not only over. It is gone.

A great editorial from Caroline Glick:

Defending Israel to an unsympathetic president from the Democratic Party is apparently too much to ask most pro-Israel American Jews to do.

And this is where Shavit’s book comes in.

By portraying Israel as a country that is morally deficient, Shavit gave the American Jewish community two gifts. First he gave them a way to feel morally superior, and therefore patronizing toward Israel. Israel, they can say, committed a massacre – and did so because its founding ideology is poisonous. American Jews would never do such a thing. But out of the kindness of their hearts, like Shavit, they will continue to love this unworthy cousin.

The second gift Shavit gave the American Jewish community was the ability to feel comfortable refusing to be inconvenienced for Israel.
