Blues Jackets Shutout at Home

I went with my sons to the NHL hockey game at Nationwide Arena Friday night.  We started the evening catching dinner and sampling some of the specialty beers at the Gordon Biersch restaurant in the Columbus Arena District.  We then watched a decent hockey game as the Columbus Blue Jackets were outplayed by the Dallas Stars in a 3-0 loss.  The Jackets have many of their top players sitting out with injuries (e.g., Foote and Berard); But some of their other highly paid stars, such as Fedorov, appear to have lost the “hunger”.

One redeeming note is that we took the time between periods to go up to Club Level 7 to check out the location of our seats for the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament — the location looks great!  We’ll be back at Nationwide on Friday and Sunday to watch basketball.
