Buckeyes Win Hockey Tournament

I know that everyone is focusing on Ohio State moving up to #1 in the college football polls…  However, you shouldn’t overlook the Ohio State hockey team.  The Buckeye skaters beat the Wisconsin Badgers Saturday night in Dayton to win the McFadden Invitational Tournament.   The Buckeyes beat the Badgers 5 to 3 at the Nutter Center in the evening finale after Notre Dame shutdown Mercyhust 4 to 0 in the consolation game.

When we were at the games Friday night, most of us commented that the Wisconsin team looked like the strongest in the tournament.  It’s ironic that the Buckeyes had to come to Dayton for a big win… This just so happens to be the first time that Ohio State has beaten Wisconsin in 10 tries.

  1. That is a good win for them. It repays the outdoor loss at Lambeau Field. I was most surprised though at the OSU roster. I was amazed at the number of lads from Ohio on the team. I think there are about 9 Ohio natives listed. That is really something!
