In the world of engineering and manufacturing we often say “when everything is high priority, then nothing is high priority”. It’s a way of stating that you have to clearly stratify the differences in your observations and claims. I suppose the political equivalent of this lack of differentiation is when everyone claims that anything that they don’t like is “racism” (of course, this diminishes the word so much that any claims of racism lose any meaning). Take a look at some recent claims from some questionable characters. The first is Elizabeth Warren, who says that Trump calling her Pocahontas is racism. The second is the George Soros-funded group Color of Change claiming that a change in the net neutrality law is racism.
What’s next? Is someone going to claim that Martin Luther King was a racist?
