Dayton Museum of Art – Not Too Shabby

We visited the Dayton Art Institute this weekend to see the special exhibit from the National Academy of Design.  This exhibit is intended to feature the paintings of American artists from the past 150 years.  Based on our observations, we never realized that there are so many very accomplished American painters.

On a side note: while the wifey and I are not necessarily art connoisseurs, we’ve actually visited four art museums in the last 9 months.  In addition to the Dayton Art Institute, we visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Modern Museum of Art in Chicago, and the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.

For those of you wondering about the white spots on the first photograph below — yes, those are large snowflakes falling in Dayton, Ohio in the middle of March.
