Democrats Lose Vote in Senate

The 56-34 vote fell four short of the 60 needed to advance a nonbinding resolution against the President’s plans for Iraq.  it’s important to note that there were seven Republicans who voted with the Democrats:

Norm Coleman of Minnesota
Susan Collins of Maine
Chuck Hagel of Nebraska
Gordon Smith of Oregon
Olympia Snowe of Maine
Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania
John Warner of Virginia

Senator Voinovich of Ohio didn’t disappoint me (I doubt that it was my email), and Senator Lieberman of Connecticut (an independent that was previously a Democrat) sided with Republicans on the vote.
