Flyers Win In Scrimmage Game

Do you like the title of this posting?  It sounds similar to what I tell my wife about my victories when I play tennis against the ball machine…

Anyway, Len and I made it over to UD Arena for the Dayton Flyers scrimmage game Saturday morning (about 16 minutes of game time).  You’ve got to love those Flyer fans.  There were nearly 4,000 faithful in attendance…  Interestingly, two of the top UD players, Chris Wright and Devin Searcy, were at the game in warm-up pants but didn’t see any playing time.  This could be the result of injuries or perhaps some type of punishment… I was most impressed with the play of Juco transfer Thiago Cordeiro.  He showed a solid presence around the basket and actually blocked two close-in shots by Charles Little… It appears that coach Gregory is going with London Warren and Brian Roberts at the point guard spot.  Warren is a high-energy player that can spark a team, but he still makes me nervous running the offense.

Most of the pundits picked the Flyers 6th in the A-10 conference… Even though it’s difficult to evaluate a team from a scrimmage game, I really believe that they will finish higher.

  1. I was there. Both DS and CW were nursing injuries. I like the big Brazilian. He reminds me of Tashaun Prince minus the big peanut head.
