Less Government Involvement… Please!

You should ponder all of the layers of “supervision” above you that tell you what to do and when to pay homage: Your boss as work; the local city government; the county government; the state government; the federal government; and soon — under the O’bama tutelage — the UN/Planet government.  Hell, I’m tired of paying taxes and being told what to think by all these layers of do-gooders… Am I the only one alarmed by these trillion dollar stimuli??  We have mayors from American cities lining up to ask for budget boosters.  O’bama has plans to create more government jobs… We are experiencing events that Ayn Rand and George Orwell forewarned us in their best novels.   A recent article in the Wall Street Journal summed up the pertinence of Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged” very nicely:

The moral of the story is simply this: Politicians invariably respond to crises — that in most cases they themselves created — by spawning new government programs, laws and regulations. These, in turn, generate more havoc and poverty, which inspires the politicians to create more programs . . . and the downward spiral repeats itself until the productive sectors of the economy collapse under the collective weight of taxes and other burdens imposed in the name of fairness, equality and do-goodism.

[…]

Ultimately, “Atlas Shrugged” is a celebration of the entrepreneur, the risk taker and the cultivator of wealth through human intellect. Critics dismissed the novel as simple-minded, and even some of Rand’s political admirers complained that she lacked compassion. Yet one pertinent warning resounds throughout the book: When profits and wealth and creativity are denigrated in society, they start to disappear — leaving everyone the poorer.

  1. “Under the O’bama tutelage”, a good choice of words.
A lot of people laugh when I tell them the same thing, but it this the way it starts; none should criticise the president, none should put in question his decisions, Henry Reid is disgusted by “commmon” people and on and on.
I was raised in a totalitarian regime and I do know the signs of socialism, and I can tell with certainty; US is going there, if nobody stops it. BUT He is going to be a one term president, americans love freedom too much to let anyone tell them what to study, what to eat, where to work….

    Best,
