According to a recent article in Reuters, even the Palestinians are starting to wonder if their constant use of violence is a “disease”. Ghazi Hamad, a member of Hamas who also acts as the spokesman for the Hamas-led government, remarked: “Has violence become a culture implanted in our bodies and our flesh?”
I’ll give them credit for pondering a very basic question that I’m certain the rest of the world has been asking. Of course, it’s a little bit of a paradox that a member of Hamas — whose primary purpose is the destruction of Israel — wonders if they focus too much on violence. Duh. It’s sort of like a confirmed alcoholic telling people that he probably thinks too much about consuming beer and wine.
