I did my civic duty and showed up at the Stillwater Church near my home to cast my ballot. Since most people tend to skip a primary election (I’m still trying to get my wife out to vote…), I specifically took the time because I wanted to support Blackwell as the Republican candidate for Governor, and I wanted to vote against the levy to increase property taxes in Butler Township.
I still think that it’s crazy that I can go to a polling place and all I have to do is give them a name, address, and a signature, and they let me vote. There is no real verification of identity (I’m told that’s it’s too much like a poll tax) and no hanging chads… oh well, I suppose this easy voting approach helps folks like the Daley Democrats in Chicago — vote early, and often.
