The notion that giving more money to the federal government to help “save us” from global warming, global cooling, wayward meteors, etc., is a return to the chicanery of the dark ages. As Milton Friedman so astutely observed many years ago: “If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in 5 years there’d be a shortage of sand.”
