US Auto Industry and the UAW

In a recent article in the Detroit Free Press, Thomas Bray discusses the high cost of corporate welfare for the auto unions… “Even now many UAW members consider a job in the auto industry a sort of property right. And the belief is still strong that what is good for the union is good for the country.”

It’s difficult to be optimistic about the US auto industry…  I have friends that work in management at Ford, Delphi, and GM, and they are incredulous that the union folks “just don’t get it”.
