We just returned from a five-day family vacation in Puerto Rico. We stayed at the beautiful El Conquistador Resort on the Eastern part of the island (about 45 minutes from San Juan). The resort is built on the side of a cliff (see photo on left below) and has an 18-hole golf course and 7 lighted tennis courts. Since the courts were located near our room (see photo on right), the four of us played tennis just about every night.
We also visited the various sites around the island, including the El Yunque Rain Forest, Arecibo Radio Telescope (see photo at the left below), and the El Morro Fort in Old San Juan. As you can see from the photo at the right below we had 80 degree weather everyday and beautiful sunsets….
I took our Garmin GPS with us on the trip and it came in very handy helping us navigate the packed roads around the island. The resort area around our hotel was very luxurious, however, the areas around San Juan made us feel that we were driving in dense traffic around the Bronx or Queens in New York.
