Leave it to the worldy Arab countries to mix international sporting events with their brand of politics. You may have read about the United Arab Emirates not allowing a female Israeli player to compete in a WTA event in Dubai… It now appears that 5 men have pulled out of the ATP tournament scheduled for Dubai, most recently Andy Roddick, who had this to say:
“I really didn’t agree with what went on over there. I don’t know if it’s the best thing to mix politics and sports, and that was probably a big part of it…”
