Is it Time for Another Probe in Washington?

Update

From the Boston Herald, a strong statement about the apparent Obama-initiated conspiracy:

It’s become abundantly clear there was a conspiracy waged against a sitting U.S. president now that the Robert Mueller investigation has confirmed the Russia collusion hoax was just that — a hoax — manufactured by a witches’ brew of Democrats including Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, the Democratic National Committee, Obama deep state officials and a complicit media seeking to derail the Trump administration.

From DC Whispers, there is talk of a special prosecutor emerging to address Obamagate:

Earlier this week former Obama Intelligence official, James Clapper, all but put the entirety of the Spygate scandal at the feet of Barack Obama. Yet since that remarkable admission the media hasn’t even uttered the former president’s name in any of its subsequent reporting.

There needs to be just a bit of reading between the lines here but make no mistake, what James Clapper is doing here is sending out a warning flare that if he’s going down there will be a lot of others he intends to take with him.

The urgency in assigning responsibility for the Obamagate (alternatively, Russiagate or Spygate) charade appears to be gaining momentum.  A recent interview with Rand Paul:

He feels that it’s damaging to the country, damaging to the ability to lead the country, that we basically—somebody within the Obama administration, within the DOJ and the FBI, basically concocted an investigation, trumped it up to be something that it wasn’t and then we’ve gone through two years of the country being stalled because of this fake investigation.”

Is it time for another probe and independent counsel in Washington?  Is it time to investigate the corruption of Hillary and Obama?

Was the initial decision to investigate Trump’s campaign an honest mistake by the Obama administration? Or was it an attempt to rig the election in favor of Clinton, and when that failed, overthrow a duly elected president?

Those outstanding issues are as worthy of complete answers as those that Mueller investigated. In addition to knowing whether there was an improper relationship between a candidate and a foreign power, Americans also deserve to know what was going on inside their own government and whether it was simply incompetent or thoroughly corrupt, or some combination of the two.

Put another way, what did President Obama and his administration do, and why did they do it?

From the Wall Street Journal, the need for closing the loop on accountability:

The Mueller report confirms that the Obama administration, without evidence, turned the surveillance powers of the federal government against the presidential campaign of the party out of power. This historic abuse of executive authority was either approved by President Barack Obama or it was not. It’s time for Mr. Obama, who oddly receives few mentions in stories about his government’s spying on associates of the 2016 Trump campaign, to say what he knew and did not know about the targeting of his party’s opponents.
