Tennis Master Series in Cincinnati – Report 1

We went to Mason on Sunday where the weather was ideal and the tennis matches were all high quality.  Sunday is typically focused on the finals of the qualifying matches.  However, since the doubles tournament has expanded in Cincinnati, they actually had a couple of main draw matches on center court.  The most exciting match of the day was the newly-formed doubles team of Jesse Levine and Donald Young versus Lindstedt and Nieminen.  Levine and Young are supposed to be the up-and-coming hope for American tennis (they are 20 and 19 years old)…  they took their more experienced opponents to tiebreakers in both sets, but lost 6-7, 6-7.

We typically hang out between the Grandstand, Court 9, and the Stadium.  This gives use great versatility to watch two matches and a practice court, all within a couple of feet of walking…  I noticed the unusual quantity of left-handed players.  In the Levine/Young doubles match, three of the four players were southpaws… As usual, Missy got her favorite lemonade and soft pretzels.  She remarked that “it didn’t taste the same without sharing it with Eliezer.”
