Two Israeli Players Selected in NBA Draft

Israeli basketball players Lior Eliyahu and Yotam Halperin were selected in the second round of the recent 2006 NBA Draft.  Eliyahu was selected 44th overall by the Orlando Magic, and Halperin was taken by the Seattle Supersonics with the 53rd overall pick.   Halperin is a 22-year-old, 6′ 5″ guard with exceptional shooting and passing skills.  The 20-year-old Eliyahu, is a 6′ 9″ forward that was recently selected as an all star at the EuroCup championships.
