According to an article in the Associated Press, “President Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert sided emphatically Tuesday with a weakened Mahmoud Abbas, hoping extra money and warm words would give the moderate leader primacy over the Islamic militant Hamas in the newly divided Palestinian territories.”
I’m sure that I’m not the only one that is saying this, but mark my words: any efforts to support the Palestinian Fatah is a major strategic mistake, and it will come back to bite Israel and the US.
